AVITA Inc. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Hiroshi Ishiguro) today announced the launch of AVACOM, a remote customer service platform that utilizes digital humans, character-based avatars, and other virtual agents. The service will be available starting April 27, 2022.
As Japan faces a declining labor force due to an aging population and shifts in lifestyle brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for digital transformation (DX) continues to accelerate. AVITA has collaborated with various organizations to validate the effectiveness of avatar-based customer service and to explore new workstyles made possible through remote operation. Guided by the vision “Virtualize the Real World,” AVITA aims to create a society where people can seamlessly work across both real and virtual environments. The launch of AVACOM marks a major step toward advancing the social implementation of avatar technology.
AVACOM is developed based on more than 20 years of research led by AVITA CEO and CTO Hiroshi Ishiguro, a globally recognized roboticist. Drawing on extensive field experiments and operational insights, AVITA also provides implementation support to maximize the impact of avatar-based customer engagement.

AVACOM offers a diverse range of avatars that can be customized for different contexts—including lifelike virtual humans, anime-style characters, mascots, and animal characters. Companies may customize attire or design, or develop fully original avatars.
These avatars can be used not only on AVACOM but also for social media engagement, video production, and various promotional or operational purposes.
