AVITA Concludes MoU Unitree, to Begin Collaboration in the Humanoid and Physical AI Fields

Promoting joint hardware and application development for social implementation from Japan and China to a global scale.

AVITA Inc. (Headquarters: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hiroshi Ishiguro; hereinafter "AVITA"), a company developing services utilizing avatars and AI, is pleased to announce that it has concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with YuShu TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD (hereinafter "Unitree") and commenced collaboration.

AVITA has previously developed and provided solutions using CG avatars, such as the avatar customer service "AVACOM" and the avatar AI role-playing support service "AvaTraining" To strengthen dialogue and service provision in the real world, not limited to the digital space, AVITA will now begin the development and provision of humanoids and Physical AI (Embodied AI). Through this collaboration, the two companies will integrate their technologies and expertise to accelerate the social implementation of robots in Japan, China, and globally.

Background and Purpose of the Collaboration

AVITA's vision is "To Evolve Humanity with Avatars," and it has expanded its DX solutions utilizing CG avatars and AI to a wide range of industries, including retail, tourism, and nursing care.

In recent years, against the backdrop of increasing labor shortages and growing demand for operational efficiency, expectations for robots (humanoids and Physical AI) that can physically operate in the real space, in addition to digital CG avatars, have been rising.

Unitree is a robotics company engaged in the development and manufacturing of advanced robots, including quadruped robots and humanoid robots.
Its product lineup includes quadruped robots such as “Go2,” “B2,” and “A2,” as well as humanoid robots like “H1” and “G1.” Leveraging its strengths in high-performance locomotion and control technologies, Unitree’s robots are being adopted globally across research, education, and industrial sectors. In recent years, the company has also been focusing on the humanoid robotics domain, advancing initiatives aimed at the social implementation of next-generation robots operating in real-world environments.

Against this backdrop, the two companies concluded an MoU to combine AVITA's AI and avatar control technology and software development capabilities with Unitree's expertise in hardware development. The goal is to create more advanced robot solutions and expand into the global market.

Key Areas of Collaboratio

Based on this partnership, the following initiatives will be jointly promoted:

1. Joint Hardware Development
   Joint development of next-generation humanoids and robot hardware equipped with Physical AI.

2. Application Development in Partnership with AVITA's Software
   Implementing AVITA's cultivated avatar operation technology and conversational AI technology into the hardware to develop applications compatible with diverse use cases.

3. Promotion of Global Social Implementation
   Aiming for the social implementation of robots on a global scale, starting with deployment in the Japanese and Chinese markets.

AVITA and Unitree are seeking partner companies and development engineers who wish to pursue the social implementation of humanoids together in promoting this project.
