AVITA Inc. (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; CEO/CTO: Hiroshi Ishiguro; hereinafter “AVITA”), a company developing services that leverage avatar and generative AI technologies, today announced that it has raised 1.37 billion yen in its Series A funding round.
The round included investments from six major corporate partners:
Pasona Group Inc., Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Shionogi & Co., Ltd., Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International (ATR), Suntory Holdings Limited, and Advance Create Co., Ltd.
Combined with previous funding of 520 million yen, AVITA’s total funding now stands at 1.89 billion yen.
Under the corporate vision “Evolving Humanity with Avatars,” AVITA provides services that help address Japan’s rapidly intensifying labor shortage and support more flexible workforce participation. These services include:
AVACOM, a remote avatar-based customer service platform
AvaTraining, an avatar AI role-play training service powered by generative AI
Since the previous funding round, AVITA’s organization and revenue have each grown tenfold, and the company achieved full-year profitability in the last fiscal period. AVITA also acquired implementation rights for 73 patents and newly filed 25 additional patents, further strengthening its technology assets.
To accelerate its next stage of growth, AVITA will invest in product development, R&D, and talent acquisition for both domestic and global business expansion. With all investments in this round coming from operating companies, AVITA aims to deepen collaborative partnerships and develop its business across multiple industries.
